Celebrate the creativity of independent moviemakers at the Academy Center of the Arts for the 2025 Lynchburg Film Festival! Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased from the Academy’s website here.

Studio 701 will be closed this day as we attend the festival. Catch us there!

A night where photographers can book the studio for a 30-minute slot at no cost. This can be for any type of photoshoot that you want, just be aware you will be sharing the space and all setup must be done within your 30-minute slot. Two stations will be set up, but you can also make use of our front windows.

Lights are included on this night. Book your time here. Limit of one slot per photographer.

Lynchburg’s annual International Festival will be happening on May 3rd this year. We encourage everyone to stop by and explore some of the diverse cultures represented in our community! Studio 701 will be closed, and you can find us downtown during the event.

Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day is celebrated on the last Sunday of April, this year falling on the 27th. On this day every year, photographers around the world make photos with their pinhole cameras. Your subject can be anything. The only rule is no solid lens, only a tiny pinhole.

Bring an art or craft project you’re working on to the studio and join us for a night of casually creating, together! We will usually do this every Third Thursday of each month.

One of the big things that photographers look to us for that they may not have themselves, other than a dedicated space, is strobe lighting. In order to prepare for your first time in Studio 701, we offer this course to get you familiar with how it works and how to make good use of our lights. The cost is $20, and registration is on the Classes page. Bring your camera, and bring a friend if you’d like to get in a few test shots! This quick class will be offered once every month or two.

You will learn:
How to set up your camera and connect
How many lights to use and how to position them
How and why to adjust power levels
